One of my favorite things about moving up to Traverse City, Michigan is the community. There is so much love up here in Northern Michigan! One of my good friend’s son, Dre, is one of the brightest lights that I know. He brings a smile to everyone he sees and loves to give out high fives and fist bumps! He has Cerebral Palsy and up until October 2023, he was a happy young man in his 20’s who loved to bowl with his dad every Monday after having dinner at their favorite restaurant. He would play music at his dad’s gigs on the weekends sometimes. He could play baseball, walk with his mom, play with his little brother, ride his trike and much more despite his limitations. Then, something happened, and they don’t know what, but he started having debilitating pain that will not let up. He has been to specialist after specialist, traveling all across the state to different hospitals, with no answer in sight. He cannot even move without excruciating pain and his smile has mostly left his face. The bills are piling up and being added to by all the traveling expenses as they try to find out what’s causing his pain. This family is a staple in the community and bring so much love to all the people around them. There were so many people that were willing to help by donating money, time, products, and services to making this fundraiser a success; sending the Winkleman’s home with $9,751!! We love you Winkleman Family and we are here for you. ❤️
