I am so happy to see so many articles and photos circulating about the beauty of birth. Growing up, I had a horrible view of what it meant to birth a baby. The way it was depicted in movies and the way it was talked about was that it was extremely painful and frightning. I’m not saying that it can’t be that way, but many more times than not it is not. I birthed two babies at home and I do not describe either one as painful or frightning. I would describe it as meditative, hard work, and empowering. The Huffington Post has been publishing articles to show what real birth is like and I am excited that they chose one of my images to feature in their latest article, “43 Photos That Show The Incredible Strength It Takes To Give Birth.” My image is featured image number 18.
