I had the opportunity a couple weeks ago to photograph a marriage proposal. This event is one of THE most fun to photograph. Steven called me the day before when he realized that he wanted to have this precious moment photographed. We talked about it and came up with a loose game plan. He was popping the question at the amazing Boathouse Restaurant on the Old Mission Peninsula, just north of Traverse City, Michigan. I got there early to scope out a good spot. It was super windy and we had to find a spot somewhat out of the wind. There was a nice group of trees blocking the wind right next to this nice patio and chairs. In addition there was also a nice group of trees lined up perfectly for me to hide in to get the pictures with the lake in the background. This was the spot. His waitress came out to talk to me to help guide him to the correct area. I texted him as well. It worked perfectly… and she said YES! It was a super fun photo shoot.
