The first annual Swim for Grand Traverse Bay happened last Saturday, August 13th, 2016. What a fun event! It was raining the whole morning, but that didn’t stop people from coming out to support the swimmers and the great cause. It was warm and not very windy, so the swimmers had a great day for this 2 mile open water swim. This was a benefit event supporting The Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay, a non-profit that works to protect the Bay and its 1,000-square-mile watershed. The swim started in Greilickville Harbor Park in Elmwood Township and ended at Volleyball Beach just before Clinch Park in downtown Traverse City. Everyone finished and a lot of money was raised. Congratulations swimmers!
